Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences

The Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences at City University of Mogadishu prepares students for successful careers in government, non-governmental organizations, the legal profession, media, research, teaching, and the private sector. Through its interdisciplinary programs in Political Science and International Relations and Law, the faculty develops graduates with strong analytical, research, communication, leadership, and professional skills.

The faculty equips students with the knowledge and practical competencies needed to understand political, legal, and social issues in local, regional, and global contexts. Students are prepared for careers as public servants, diplomats, leaders, lawyers, advocates, judges, compliance officers, and other professionals through academic study, research, community service, and practical learning experiences.

Faculty Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of a program within the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences, graduates will be able to:

Apply theories, concepts, and methods from political science, international relations, and law to analyze and address political, legal, and social issues.
Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills by evaluating arguments, evidence, assumptions, and diverse perspectives.
Conduct research using appropriate social science and legal research methods to investigate and address complex issues.
Communicate effectively in written and oral forms with diverse audiences in professional, legal, and public settings.
